How do we approach a taboo without exposing those who carry it?

Violence against women is often reduced to visible injuries and silenced voices. Shame and stigma push experiences into secrecy. This silence protects not the victims, but the structures that allow violence to continue.
Research
The project questions this mechanism of concealment. What happens when stories remain hidden? Who benefits from silence?

Flowers become the central metaphor. They are a non verbal language. We use bouquets to express love, apology, gratitude, or grief without speaking. Their delicacy has also symbolized peaceful resistance. They have weapons, but we have flowers. Flowers protect. Flowers speak without revealing.

Call for Action

We are seeking collaboration partners

Hiding Behind Flowers uses this language to create a protected space for testimony. Women are invited to share their experiences anonymously through a digital platform. Their words are collected without names, without exposure, without risk of losing face. Anonymity becomes a tool of agency rather than invisibility.

The collected testimonies are translated into artistic form. Flowers become carriers of stories. What is hidden behind beauty is not denial, but strength. The project transforms secrecy into shared awareness, without forcing personal exposure. Hiding Behind Flowers does not ask women to reveal themselves. It asks society to listen.
